Located in scenic Fond du Lac County, 3 1/2 miles east of Hwy 41 (17 miles south of Fond du Lac, 55 miles north of Milwaukee) on Hwy 67 in Ashford you will find us as we begin our 18th year in business. Randy, Judy, and Gator welcome you to Flying Eagle Cycle. Most of our business comes from referrals, therefore we pride ourselves on customer satisfaction.
Flying Eagle Cycle is owned by Randy Erdman. Randy's love for Harleys started at a young age. His father's passion for the motorcycles quickly wore off on him and at 13 years old, Randy was riding his first Harley, a 1939 WLA hill climber with a hand shifter. Randy began his mechanical career in 1979, at Heidt's Harley Davidson, working for John Heidt. Through Heidt's H-D, he obtained his technician certification from the Harley factory in Milwaukee. While working at Heidt's H-D, Randy's need for speed lead him to drag racing. Randy, Judy and Gator traveled throughout the United States to many Drag Racing Nationals. Racing a 90 cubic inch Ironhead Sportster, Randy won the National Championship in the American Motorcycle Racing Association. Gator won Regional Championship in Class E riding a 80" Shovelhead, and finished third in the nation. Gator has won numerious awards; 1999-2nd place, American Classic Division, in Chicago at "Cycle World 100 years of Motorcycles", with a 1973 FLH; 1974-2nd place, 1953 Panhead 84" stroker at a Madison Bike Show, etc.
Randy and his wife, Judy, decided in 1994 to start their own business. Our company's name orignates from a club that Randy's father organized during the 1950's.
Like many other small businesses, Flying Eagle Cycle began as a one room operation. It has grown to 4200 square feet and employs two additional technicians. Randy hired a long time friend, Dale "Gator" Heinze, to help with the quickly growing business. Gator has 30+ years of experience and his knowledge of the early bikes, brings a warm welcome to our customers of varied ages. Ten years ago, a certified technician, also was hired. His comprehension of the early and late model motorcycles is an enormous asset to our customers.
Flying Eagle Cycle sponsors various charities and donates to several local benefits.
